Erson Cruz, 17, of Riverdale, was pronounced dead when his vehicle veered off the road and into a patch of woods near the 7900 block of Kenilworth Avenue in Greenbelt on Friday, Feb. 23.
Meanwhile, nearly $1,400 has been raised on a GoFundMe launched by several of Cruz’s friends just two days ago.
“Good day everyone, my friends and I are opening this fundraiser in loving memory of our good friend Erson Cruz who sadly lost his life in a fatal car accident,” reads the campaign.
“Help us with providing our friend a gravestone to honor his memory forever.”
Tributes poured in on social media as well:
Erson’s memorial was held at Plantíos de Jehova in Hyattsville on Saturday, March 2.
“As a family and director we want to give our deepest condolences,” reads one tribute.
“Erson a young man so humble well helpful always helped us with the events of the management…let's all unite as a community to give strength and encouragement to the family in these difficult times.”
